Prior to the commencement of a CEED project, the client enters an agreement (with QUT - on behalf of all participating Universities), specifying the terms and conditions of the Project. Key points of the agreement include:
- Confidentiality may be maintained on behalf of the client for a period of five years.
- Full commercial and intellectual property rights arising from the project are assigned to/retained by the client.
- The University indemnifies the client against student-related damages arising from a project.
- Each student signs a contract, also including confidentiality and IP ownership clauses
Because of our clients' ability to retain IP and confidentiality, CEED students regularly work on projects related to R&D, proof of concept, prototype development or ideas/products that are subject to patent applications. CEED can advertise sensitive projects in a way that protects client/project details, as necessary.
Insurances for CEED projects
Three types of insurance are provided for each CEED project, by QUT (covering students from all participating Universities). Note that students are not actually employed by the client during their project, but are remunerated by way of a scholarship.
