Are you planning ahead? Want to incorporate a talented University student into one of your upcoming innovation, R&D, or improvement projects? Keen to link students with your graduate program? Get organised early ... here's a summary of which students are available, when ... and how to access them via CEED (before others do!).
CEED students can work on company projects (as part of their degree) located in/around Sydney, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and some other areas in Queensland.
Project Suitability
Size of project - a scope that can be completed within 13 weeks, with a student working 3-4 days/week over that period.
Level of difficulty - projects should be achievable by a 1st year graduate.
Research vs Practical projects - most projects completed by CEED students are 'practical' or R&D focused rather than highly intellectual/research-focused. Projects usually arise from a company's need to solve a business problem, develop a new product / software application, research or target their customers in some way, or streamline business / IT / manufacturing processes.
Therefore, companies should aim to offer projects that will provide them with commercial value / ROI, whilst providing the student with a solid 'real world' training opportunity. Companies must provide a supervisor / mentor for the student. With these aims in mind, companies and students alike will achieve very good project results.

Summary of CEED Recruitment Process:
Once a client registers their project/s with CEED (online or via email), we confirm the details and timing of project/s before advertising details to the appropriate students at QUT, UQ, USQ or USYD.
Projects are advertised to students via the CEED website and our network of academic contacts (note: please omit confidential project/company details from project outline/s, for advertising purposes). You can choose to discuss confidential/other details of the project with students, at the interview stage.
An application, interview and selection process will follow (co-ordinated by CEED) - to assist clients to choose the most suitable student/s for their project/s.
Once a suitable student is selected by the client, CEED confirms a convenient start date. Project contracts are put in place (client and student), and the project fee is invoiced (1st instalment). Before the student commences work on the project, CEED provides the student with an induction session which includes training in project planning and management.
CEED then monitors the progress of all student projects, from start to finish. CEED is available to clients and students throughout the project for guidance and troubleshooting, whenever required.
CEED’s aim is for both the student and client to gain a very good project outcome. This means that the client receives a good and tangible project result, and the student receives good industry-based training/mentoring, experience in managing and delivering a ‘real world’ project, and a higher than average academic grade for their project.
