Lord Mayor Inducts 2010 Brisbane International Student Ambassadors

Nitin Singhal is a QUT MBA student, who is currently completing a CEED project (software development) for Cedar Creek Company.  CEED was delighted to receive the news of Nitin's selection as one of the 2010 Brisbane International Student Ambassadors.

In Lord Mayor Campbell Newman's email broadcast of 30 April, he says "I was delighted this month to welcome and induct twenty-nine international students as official Brisbane International Student Ambassadors for 2010."

Representing 21 nationalities, the 29 Ambassadors were selected by Brisbane Marketing’s Study Brisbane program through a two month extensive review and recruitment process.

He continues, "Brisbane's International Student Ambassadors play an important part in promoting Brisbane as an international student destination to their home countries.

Brisbane is a vibrant and multicultural city and these ambassadors are the perfect candidates to spread the word that Brisbane is a new world city offering world class education opportunities.

The Brisbane International Student Ambassador program forms part of Brisbane Marketing’s Study Brisbane initiative which advances the development of Brisbane’s international education sector.

The Ambassador program is all about creating global advocates for Brisbane. As our Ambassadors return to their home cities, they may become captains in industry and government which creates strong global connections for Brisbane.

The 29 Ambassadors represent Brisbane’s largest source markets, including China, Korea, India and USA. The students are aged between 21 and 34, and are studying a wide range of education courses in Brisbane including marketing, business, nursing, engineering and medicine.

The Ambassadors will perform a variety of activities to communicate their experiences, including actively using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media sites; blogging; as well as participating in media interviews, official delegations and hosting media families."
